Windshield Wiper Test 2G - Wipers Not Working At All
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2F
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER INTRODUCTION. Perform TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect right multifunction switch 7-pin connector. See Figure in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 5G . Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of right multifunction switch 7-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire between fuse No. 15 (10-amp) and right multifunction switch 7-pin connector terminal No. 1, and replace fuse No. 15.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of HI/LO wiper relay coil. If resistance is not 65-90 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 65-90 ohms, replace HI/LO wiper relay and replace fuse No. 15.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of intermittent wiper relay coil. If resistance is not 65-90 ohms, replace multifunction switch and replace fuse No. 15. If resistance is 65-90 ohms, replace intermittent wiper relay and fuse No. 15.
