Test 94A - Diagnosing Automatic Speed Sensitive Door Locks
NOTE:

- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.3L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.5L
- Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Using scan tool, read Automatic (AUTO) door lock status. If scan tool does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, use scan tool to enable door locks. If scan tool displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, ensure all doors are close. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read left front door ajar status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 39B . If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read door ajar status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 40A . If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select system test. If scan tool displays PCM INACTIVE ON BUS, go to TEST 114A . If scan tool does not display PCM INACTIVE ON BUS, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read ENGINE INFO. If TPS percentage does not increase as throttle is opened, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.3L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.5L
If TPS percentage increases as throttle is opened, go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Ensure traction control is off (if equipped). Close all doors. Start engine and shift vehicle into Drive. Using scan tool, read ENGINE INFO. If MPH does not increase as throttle is opened, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
If MPH increases as throttle is opened and doors lock, system is operating properly at this time. If doors do not lock, replace BCM.
