Diagnosis Using Scan Tool
- Ensure scan tool is connected to Data Link Connector (DLC). Ensure correct cartridge is installed in scan tool for vehicle being diagnosed. Menu selections will vary depending on scan tool being used and on vehicle being diagnosed. Follow scan tool screen prompts to read actuate, adjust, monitor, reset, test and diagnose system as necessary.
- Scan tool is grounded through DLC. Only one volt-ohmmeter test lead is required when using volt-ohmmeter option. Scan tool volt-ohmmeter should only be used when self-diagnostic tests require the use of this option.
NOTE:
While using DRB scan tool, if an error is made or technician is unaware of correct procedures, enter "F1" (Help) or HOW TO USE DRB from various menus. While using generic scan tool, refer to manufacturer's instructions.
