Test 17C - Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Using scan tool, stop courtesy lamp actuation. Open left door. Using scan tool, read left door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to TEST 21A . If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Open right door. Using scan tool, read right door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 22A . If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Black connector terminal No. 25 (Yellow wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Yellow wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM.
