Coolant Temperature Sending Unit Test

Remove sending unit from intake manifold. Dip sensor end of sending unit into 158°F (70°C) water. Using ohmmeter, check sending unit resistance between terminal and case. Resistance should be 90.5-117.5 ohms. If resistance is not within specifications, replace sending unit. Before installing sending unit, apply thread sealant.
