Test 104G - Wiper Switch Power Supply Short To Ground

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER  section in this article. Perform TEST VER-1  VERIFICATION TEST after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect multifunction switch connector. Connector is located on upper part of steering column, behind trim cover. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of multifunction switch connector terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire and replace fuse No. 10. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between high/low wiper relay (relay No. 10) terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "C" (Violet wire) in Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located on left front fender apron. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace high/low wiper relay and fuse No. 10. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between on/off (intermittent) wiper relay (relay No. 6) terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "C" (Dark Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace intermittent wiper relay and fuse No. 10. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, replace multifunction switch and fuse No. 10.
