Test 35A - Courtesy Lamp System & Power Supply

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER  section in this article. Perform TEST VER-1  VERIFICATION TEST after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, actuate courtesy lamps. If courtesy lamps illuminate, go to step 6). If courtesy lamps do not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, stop courtesy lamps actuation. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 19 (Pink wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 12 (Yellow wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect any inoperative lamp assembly. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on courtesy lamp assembly connector (Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Yellow wire. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire.
  6. Using scan tool, stop courtesy lamp actuation. Open left front door. Using scan tool, read left front door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace body control module. If scan tool does not display LFDOOR AJAR: CLOSED, proceed to TEST 39A  .
