Test 15B: Pump Motor Circuit Not Working Properly
NOTE:
Perform TEST 15A: PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT NOT WORKING PROPERLY
before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Stop pump/motor actuation. If pump/motor continues to operate, go to next step. If pump/motor does not continue to operate, go to step 5).
- Turn ignition off. If pump/motor does not continue to operate, go to next step. If pump/motor continues to operate, replace pump/motor relay. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Disconnect CAB connector. Inspect CAB connector and terminals for damage. Repair connector and terminals as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 3 (Gray wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Gray wire. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance 5 ohms or more, but not 50-70 ohms, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is 50-70 ohms, circuit is okay. Perform TEST VER-1A.
- Using scan tool, read pump/motor output voltage. Connect jumper wire between ground and pump/motor relay connector terminal "A" (Gray wire). See Figure . If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Brown/White wire from CAB connector terminal No. 34 to pump/motor relay connector terminal "B". Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Remove jumper wire. At this time, pump/motor circuit is operating properly. Test is complete. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
