Severe & Normal Service Definitions
Service is recommended at mileage intervals based on vehicle operation. Service schedules are based on the following primary operating conditions:
Normal Service
- Driven More Than 10 Miles Daily
- No Severe Service Operating Conditions
Severe Service
- Severe Dust Conditions
- Towing
- Extensive Idling, Driving In Stop-And-Go Traffic
- Short Trips (Less Than 5 Miles), At Freezing Temperatures
- Driving In Sandy Areas
- Driving In Salty Areas
- More Than 50% Operation in Heavy City Traffic Or At Sustained High Speeds during Hot Weather Above 90°F (32°C)
- Driving On Off-road Areas
