Windshield Wiper Test 6A - Wipers Not Parking In Off Position

NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Operate wiper in intermittent mode. Using scan tool, observe wiper park switch. If wiper park switch does not toggle from closed to open, turn wipers off and go to next step. If wiper park switch toggles from closed to open, system is operating properly. Using scan tool, clear trouble codes, and try to reproduce fault.
  2. Disconnect wiper motor Light Gray 4-pin connector and ensure connector is clean and not damaged. Using scan tool, continue observing wiper park switch and go to next step.
  3. Connect a jumper wire between terminal "D" (White/Gray wire) and ground on wiper motor 4-pin connector. If scan tool does not display, SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool display, SWITCH: CLOSED, replace wiper motor.
  4. Locate engine 14-pin connector at Body Control Module (BCM). See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. Using a jumper wire, backprobe between terminal No. 5 (White/Gray wire) on 14-pin connector and ground. If scan tool displays SWITCH: CLOSED, repair open in White/Gray wire. If scan tool does not display SWITCH: CLOSED, replace BCM.
