Chime Test 4B - Open Seat Belt Switch Circuit
NOTE:
Perform CHIME TEST 4A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect driver's seat belt switch connector. Connect jumper wire between harness connector terminals. Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT: CLOSED, replacedriver's seat belt switch. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Move jumper wire lead from terminal No. 2 (Black wire) to chassis ground. Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT: CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Backprobe jumper wire between ground and term inal No. 15 (Light Green/Red wire) on BCM Blue 16-pin connector C4. Using scan tool, read seat belt switch status. If scan tool displays SEAT BELT: CLOSED, repair open Light Green/Red wire. If scan tool does not display SEAT BELT: CLOSED, replace BCM.
