Motor Test

  1. Remove power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect wiring harness connector. Measure voltage between terminals No. 5 (Black wire) and No. 1 (Red wire) at power seat switch harness connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open power or ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  2. Using 2 jumper wires, connect one wire to battery supply. Connect second jumper wire to chassis ground. Connect other end of wires to pins as described in MOTOR TESTS AT SEAT CONNECTOR  table to check seat action. See Fig 1 . If motor still does not work, check wiring between switch connector and motor. Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace motor.
