One Door Fails To Lock/Unlock From Any Switch

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. If problem is with driver's door, go to step  4. If problem is not with driver's door, remove key from ignition switch. Remove appropriate door trim panel. Disconnect door lock motor connector.
  2. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 (Orange wire) on door lock motor harness connector. Press door lock switch to LOCK position. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Orange wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Pink/Black wire) on door lock motor harness connector. Press door lock switch to UNLOCK position. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink/Black wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace door lock motor.
  4. Remove driver's door unlock relay from junction block. See Figure. Junction block is located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure. Connect jumper wire between terminals "B" and "E" on driver's unlock relay socket. Unlock driver's door. Press door lock switch to LOCK position. If driver's door locks, replace driver's door unlock relay. If driver's door does not lock, go to next step.
  5. Do not disconnect jumper wire. Remove driver's door trim panel. See appropriate POWER WINDOWS article. Disconnect door lock motor connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Blue wire) on motor harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Dark Blue wire.
  6. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 (Orange wire) on door lock motor harness connector. Press door lock switch to LOCK position. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Orange wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace door lock motor.
