All Doors Fail To Unlock From Any Switch
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see
BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove door unlock relay from junction block. See Figure. Junction block is located behind left end cap of instrument panel.
- Connect test light between terminals "A" and "C" on unlock relay socket. Using scan tool, actuate door unlock relay. If test light flashes during actuation, go to next step. If test light does not flash, go to step 5.
- Stop actuation. Remove lock relay from junction block. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal "E" on relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace junction block.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals "B" and "E" on lock relay. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace unlock relay. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace lock relay.
- Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "C" on unlock relay socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block. Inspect junction block 20-pin internal connector. Repair as needed. If connector is okay, replace BCM.
