Wipers Run At One Speed Only
NOTE:
Wiper motor runs in low speed position, but not in high speed position or wiper motor runs in high speed position but not in low speed position.
- If wiper motor will not run on low speed, go to next step. If wiper motor will not run on high speed, go to step 3 .
- Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Using a jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor terminal No. 2 (component side). Connect a second jumper wire between ground and wiper motor terminal No. 5 (component side). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See Figure . If motor runs, go to step 4 . If motor does not run, replace wiper motor. See WIPER MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Using a jumper wire, connect battery voltage to wiper motor terminal No. 1 (component side). Connect a second jumper wire between ground and wiper motor terminal No. 5 (component side). If motor runs, go to step 5 . If motor does not run, replace wiper motor.
- Remove HIGH/LOW wiper relay from power distribution center. Check continuity in Brown/White wire between HIGH/LOW wiper relay terminal "E" and wiper motor connector terminal No. 2. See Figure and Figure . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open Brown/White wire.
- Check continuity in Red/Yellow wire between HIGH/LOW wiper relay terminal "D" and wiper motor connector terminal No. 1. If continuity exists, check for faulty HIGH/LOW wiper relay. If continuity does not exist, repair open Red/Yellow wire.
