Fuel Rail: Removal

- Release fuel pressure from fuel system. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
- Disconnect negative battery cable at remote battery terminal on passenger's side strut tower.
- Remove intake manifold plenum mounting bolts. Lift Plenum up off of engine. Cover intake manifold to prevent foreign material from entering engine.
- Disconnect fuel supply tube quick connect fitting at the rear of the fuel rail using proper procedure for fuel line disconnect fitting. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
- If the injector connectors are not tagged with their cylinder number, tag them to identify the correct cylinder. See Fig 1.
- Remove mounting bolts on both sides of fuel rail. Lift fuel rail straight up off of cylinder head.
- Remove retaining clips from fuel injectors at fuel rail. Remove fuel injector from fuel rail.
