Diagnostic Tests: Notes

WARNING: To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in AIR BAG SYSTEM SAFETY article in GENERAL SERVICING.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting any control module connectors. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle.
NOTE: The following procedures were written specifically for Chrysler Diagnostic Readout Box (DRBIII®) scan tool. A generic scan tool can be used, but may not be capable of performing all necessary test functions.
NOTE: Ensure A/C refrigerant system is properly charged prior to performing diagnostic tests. See A/C SYSTEM PERFORMANCE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
