Door Lock Inhibit Circuit Inoperative
- Connect scan tool to DLC. DLC is located above hood release handle on driver's kick panel. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE on scan tool. If BUS OPERATIONAL is displayed, go to next step. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECT; IGNITION VOLTAGE TOO LOW; NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BAT PWR DISCON'D); BATTERY POWER TO MODULE under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays any other message, go to appropriate bus failure procedure under COMMUNICATIONS .
- Ensure ignition is off and key is in ignition switch. Attempt to lock doors from either door lock switch. If doors locked, go to next step. If doors did not lock, test is complete.
- Open left front door and read left front door ajar status. If scan tool displays DR DOOR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR: CLOSED, go to OPEN DRIVER DOOR (LEFT FRONT) AJAR CIRCUIT; COURTESY LIGHT INOPERATIVE WITH LEFT FRONT DOOR (ALL MODELS) under DOOR AJAR.
- Remove key from ignition switch. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to CHIME SOUNDS WITH DRIVER DOOR OPEN & KEY REMOVED FROM IGNITION under CHIME SYSTEM.
- Insert key in ignition switch. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to CHIME INOPERATIVE WITH KEY IN IGNITION under CHIME SYSTEM.
