Left Rear Door Ajar CKT STG
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULES SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C4. Disconnect left rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector. Using a 12-volt test light connected to battery voltage, probe BCM connector C4 terminal No. 1, left rear door ajar switch sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, repair short to ground in Tan/Red wire. If test light does not illuminate, leave left rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector disconnected, and go to next step.
- Ensure BCM connectors are properly connected. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select INPUTS/OUTPUTS, then read LR DOOR AJAR SW status. Connect, then disconnect left rear door lock motor/ajar switch connector. If scan tool display switches from CLOSED to OPEN, replace left rear door lock motor/ajar switch. If scan tool display does not switch from CLOSED to OPEN, replace BCM.
