DTC P0500: No Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal: Description

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal is monitored with engine running, transaxle not in Park or Neutral and engine speed more than 1500 RPM. DTC will set when PCM does not receive a vehicle speed signal for more than 11 seconds on 2 consecutive trips. Possible causes are: 8-volt supply circuit open or shorted, signal circuit open or shorted, sensor ground circuit open, defective VSS or defective PCM.
