Cleanup Procedure (1997): Notes

NOTE: Dispose of deployed Air Bag properly, contact dealer or government agency for disposal recommendations.

Roll or fold passenger Air Bag towards instrument panel surface and close door over folded bag. Then tape door shut. Follow same procedure for driver's Air Bag.

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any residual powder from vehicle interior. Work from outside in to avoid kneeling or sitting in a contaminated area. Vacuum heater and A/C outlets. If heater or air conditioner was in RECIRC mode at time of Air Bag deployment, operate blower motor on low speed and vacuum powder residue expelled from heater and A/C outlets. Multiple vacuum cleaning may to necessary to decontaminate interior of vehicle.
