TCM Messages Not Received

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select TRANSMISSION. If scan tool communicates with Transmission Control Module (TCM), go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with TCM, diagnose communication problem. See BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE  .
  2. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition off and on. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC does not reset, no problem is indicated at this time. Test is complete. If DTC resets, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
