VTSS Indicator Stays On Steady During Arming
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- If this vehicle is equipped with a hood ajar switch, go to the next step. If this vehicle is not equipped with a hood ajar switch, go to step 4 .
- Ensure the hood is closed and aligned properly. With the DRBIII, read the hood ajar status. If the DRBIII shows OPEN, go to step 4 . If the DRBIII does not show OPEN, go to next step.
- Disconnect the hood ajar switch connector. Disconnect the remote keyless entry module connector. Measure the resistance of the hood ajar switch sense circuit to ground. If the resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair the hood ajar switch sense circuit for a short to ground. If the resistance is more than 1000 ohms, replace the hood ajar switch.
- If vehicle is equipped with a decklid security switch, go to the next step. If this vehicle is not equipped with a decklid security switch, replace the remote keyless entry module.
- With the DRBIII, read the VTSS decklid security switch state. If the DRBIII shows PRESENT, replace the remote keyless entry module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE . If the DRBIII does not show PRESENT, go to next step.
- Disconnect the remote keyless entry module connector. Measure the resistance of the decklid security switch sense circuit to ground. If the resistance is less than 10.0 ohms, replace the remote keyless entry module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE . If the resistance is more than 10.0 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect the decklid security switch connector, located behind decklid lock cylinder. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, probe the ground circuit. If the test light illuminates, go to next step. If the test light does not illuminate, repair the decklid security switch ground circuit for an open.
- Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the remote keyless entry module connector. Disconnect the decklid security switch connector, located behind decklid lock cylinder. Connect a jumper wire between the decklid security switch sense circuit and ground. Measure the resistance between ground and the decklid security switch sense circuit in the RKE module connector. If the resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace the decklid security switch. If the resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair the decklid security switch sense circuit for an open.
