Power Fold-Away Mirror Motor
NOTE:
Battery must be fully charged prior to performing this test.
- Remove the appropriate door trim panel retaining fasteners. See DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove power mirror electrical connector push-pin from inner door panel.
- Disconnect mirror electrical connector and position as shown. See Fig 1 .
- Depress the mirror "fold" switch and using a voltmeter check pin 7 for 12 volts. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring and or fuse for open. If voltage is present, go to next step.
- Depress the mirror "unfold" switch and using a voltmeter check pin 4 for 12 volts. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring and or fuse for open. If voltage is present, go to next step.
- Check for ground at terminal No. 3. If ground is not present, check wiring for open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If ground is present, go to next step.
- If testing concluded that 12 volts is present at terminals No. 4 and 7, and a good ground is present, the system up to the mirror is functioning properly. Replace the side view mirror assembly. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
