Door Lock Motor

  1. Ensure battery is fully charged. To determine which motor is faulty, check each motor individually. Disconnecting shorted motor will allow other motors to work. If a motor does not work because of an open circuit, other motors will operate.
  2. Remove door trim panel to access suspect door lock motor. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Disconnect door lock motor 2-pin connector. Apply battery voltage to one door lock motor terminal, and ground other terminal. Door lock motor should operate in one direction. Reverse wire connections at terminals. Door lock motor should operate in opposite direction. If door lock motor does not operate properly, replace motor.
