Testing
- Ensure all doors are completely closed. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. Using scan tool, monitor DR DOOR AJAR SW status while opening driver-side door. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, perform DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, monitor PASS DOOR AJAR SW status while opening passenger-side door. If scan tool does not display PASS DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, perform PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. If scan tool displays PASS DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Remove and inspect inoperative bulbs and replace as necessary. If bulbs are okay, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect White 18-pin Central Timer Module (CTM) harness connector C2. Disconnect front courtesy/dome light harness connector (2-pin on Ram Van; 3-pin on Ram Wagon). Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Yellow wire between CTM harness connector C2 terminal No. 2 and front courtesy/dome light harness connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow wire circuit.
- Replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
