Possible Causes:
- Wiper/Washer Not Operational
- Washer Pump Control Switch Output Circuit Open
- Central Timer Module
Testing
- Turn ignition on. Press windshield washer button. If wipers and washers work, go to next step. If wipers and washers do not work, diagnose system. See appropriate WIPER/WASHER SYSTEMS article.
- Using scan tool, select WIPER MONITORS. Observe WASHER SWITCH STATE status. Press washer button. If scan tool displays WASHER SWITCH STATE: ON when washer button is pressed, replace Central Timer Module (CTM). If scan tool does not display WASHER SWITCH STATE: ON when washer button is pressed, repair open washer switch sense circuit between windshield washer pump terminal No. 1, multifunction switch terminal No. 19 and CTM connector C1 terminal No. 10 (Brown wire).
