Diagnosis - Automatic Transmission: Identification
WARNING:
Vehicle is equipped with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) system. When servicing vehicle, use care to avoid accidental air bag deployment. SRS-related components are located in various locations throughout interior and exterior of vehicle, depending on application. Do not use electrical test equipment on or near these circuits. If necessary, deactivate SRS system before servicing components. See AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
Transaxle identification code is stamped on identification tag located on side of transaxle. See Fig 1. Transaxle identification code may be required when ordering replacement components. If tag is missing, "PK" number, which is stamped into transaxle case, can be used for identification.
