Left Sliding Door Ajar Switch Sense Circuit Open

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Disconnect left sliding door lock motor/ajar switch in-line connector located at bottom of sliding door. See Fig 1. Using scan tool, select INPUTS/OUTPUTS and monitor LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. Connect a fused jumper wire between ground and in-line connector terminal No. 3 (Black/Dark Green wire). See Fig 2. If LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, go to next step. If LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, go to step  4.
  2. Reconnect in-line connector located at bottom of sliding door. Remove door panel from sliding door. For removal and installation procedures, see POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. On manual sliding doors, disconnect sliding door lock motor/ajar switch connector. Connect a fused jumper between ground and connector terminal No. 3 (Black/Dark Green wire). See Fig 3. On power sliding doors, disconnect sliding door latch sensing switch connector. Connect a fused jumper between ground and connector terminal No. 3 (Tan/Orange wire). See Fig 4. Monitor LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. On all doors, if LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, go to next step. If LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in circuit between ajar switch and in-line connector. See POWER DOOR LOCKS in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
  3. Monitor LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. On manual sliding doors, connect a fused jumper between sliding door lock motor/ajar switch connector terminals No. 3 (Black/Dark Green wire) and No. 4 (Black wire). On power sliding doors, connect a fused jumper between sliding door latch sensing switch connector terminals No. 3 (Tan/Orange wire) and No. 4 (Black/Gray wire). On all doors, if LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, replace sliding door lock motor/ajar switch (power sliding doors) or sliding door latch sensing switch (manual sliding doors). For removal & installation procedures, see POWER SLIDING DOORS & LIFTGATE article. On manual sliding doors, if LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in Black wire between ajar switch and ground. On power sliding doors, if LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in Black/Gray wire between ajar switch and sliding door control module connector C2 terminal No. 20. See Figure.
  4. Locate Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . See Figure. Monitor LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state. Using a fused jumper wire connected to ground, backprobe BCM connector C3 terminal No. 8 (Violet/Gray wire). If LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state does not change from OPEN to CLOSED, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If LSLIDE DR AJAR SW state changes from OPEN to CLOSED, repair open in Violet/Gray wire between in-line connector and BCM.
