Battery Tray: Installation

  1. Clean and inspect the battery tray (1). Refer to BATTERY SYSTEM  for battery tray cleaning and inspection procedures.
  2. Position the battery tray (1) into the vehicle.
  3. Install and tighten the lower bolts (2) that secure the battery tray (1). Tighten the screws to 12.4 N.m (110 in. lbs.).
  4. Install the right front wheelhouse splash shield.
  5. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly (Refer to TIRES/WHEELS/WHEELS - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
  6. Install the battery temperature sensor onto the battery tray (1). (Refer to ELECTRICAL/CHARGING/BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR - INSTALLATION) .
  7. Install and tighten upper bolts that secure the battery tray to fender frame. Tighten the screws to 12.4 N.m (110 in. lbs.).

  8. Install the battery onto the battery tray (Refer to ELECTRICAL/BATTERY SYSTEM/BATTERY - INSTALLATION) .

  9. Install and tighten the battery hold down (1) and bolt (2).

  10. Install the battery thermal guard (1).

  11. Reconnect the battery cables.
