Installation - 2.0L/2.4L

Install new O-ring gasket in water pump body O-ring groove. See Fig 1.
CAUTION: Make sure O-ring is properly seated in water pump groove before tightening screws. An improperly located O-ring may cause damage to the O-ring and cause a coolant leak.

1 - IMPELLER

2 - PUMP BODY

3 - O-RING
Assemble pump body to block and tighten screws to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.). See Figure.
Rotate pump by hand to check for freedom of movement.
Install rear timing belt cover, camshaft sprockets, and timing belt (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - INSTALLATION) - 2.0L, (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - INSTALLATION) - 2.4L or (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - INSTALLATION) - 2.7L.
Fill cooling system ((Refer to COOLING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) ).
