- Disconnect negative battery cable.

- Remove the engine cover (1)

- Remove the air cleaner cover (2) and tube assembly (1).

- Remove the accessory drive belt (3). Refer to Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine - Removal

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove the front and rear belly pan. Refer to Body/Exterior/BELLY PAN - Removal

- Drain the coolant system. Refer to Cooling - Standard Procedure

- Install the special tool # 8534B Engine Support Fixture.
- Remove the left engine mount through bolts
- Remove the right engine mount insulator.

- Remove the sway bar mounting bracket heat shields.

- Remove sway bar brackets, let the sway bar hang down and out of the way.
- Mark the location of the engine cradle.
- Loosen the right side engine cradle bolts.

- Clamp the front heater hose.

- Clamp the rear heater hose.

- Disconnect the heater tube connection. There will be some coolant loss.

- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the generator.

- Remove the upper mounting bolts and radio noise suppressor.
- Remove the lower mounting bolts.

- Remove the generator from the vehicle.
