Keyless Ignition Node (Kin) Module: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the back of the Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) module.
  4. Remove the center instrument trim panel. Refer to PANEL, INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM, CENTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. To remove the KIN from the trim panel, depress the release tabs and push the KIN outward from the inside of the panel until free.
