Power Liftgate Module (PLGM): Removal

HORIZONTAL POSITION
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Position the right rear quarter trim panel aside in the rear enough to gain access to the module. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1 - PLGM 2 - Wire Harness Connectors - Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the Power LiftGate Module (PLGM).
1 - Mounting Tab 2 - Alignment Mounting Tabs - Depress the alignment mounting tab and lift up on the that section of the module and pull slightly aft to disengage the rear alignment mounting tabs.
- Remove the PLGM from the vehicle.
VERTICAL POSITION
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Position the right rear quarter trim panel aside in the rear enough to gain access to the module. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the right rear wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to
SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1 - Body Nut 2 - Nut - Remove the A/C line to body nut.NOTE:
This step is necessary to prevent damage to the A/C lines in Step 7.
- Remove the rear floor distribution duct. Refer to DUCT, FLOOR DISTRIBUTION, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the rear ceiling distribution duct. Refer to DUCT, CEILING DISTRIBUTION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1 - Inner Quarter Fastener 2 - Inner Quarter Panel Bolts 3 - HVAC Housing - Remove the two HVAC housing to inner quarter panel bolts.
- Carefully pull the top of rear HVAC housing three inches away from the rear inner quarter panel to gain access to the blower motor fasteners and electrical connector.NOTE:
Extending the HVAC housing greater than three inches from the rear inner quarter panel could result in damage to the A/C lines.
1 - Wire Harness Connectors 2 - PLGM 3 - Alignment Mounting Tab - Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the Power LiftGate Module (PLGM).
- Depress the alignment mounting tab and lift up on the that section of the module and pull slightly aft to disengage the upper alignment mounting tabs.
