Powertrain Control Module (Pcm)
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the electrical connections from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
1 - Electrical Connections - Remove the three nuts securing the PCM to the PCM bracket.
1 - Nuts - Lift the PCM off of the bracket and remove the PCM from the engine compartment.

INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Tighten the nuts securely.
- If a new PCM is installed, it must be programed with the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and mileage and flashed with the correct software for the application. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING . If this is not done, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may set.
- If a new PCM is being installed, use a scan tool and program the new PCM with the original VIN and vehicle mileage and flash with the correct software for the application.
