Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the lower screws (1).

  3. Remove the fasteners (2) and remove the heat shield (1).

  4. Disconnect the body wiring harness connectors (2) from the Hands Free Entry Power Liftgate (HFEPLG) module.

  5. Remove the fasteners (1) securing the HFEPLG module with sensor assembly to the fascia.
  6. Remove the HFEPLG module (3) with sensor from the fascia.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position the Hands Free Entry Power Liftgate (HFEPLG) module (3) to the fascia for installation.
  2. Install the fasteners (1) to secure the HFEPLG module with sensor to the fascia and seat fully.
  3. Connect the wiring harness connectors (2) to the HFEPLG module.
  4. Install the heat shield (1).

  5. Install the fasteners (2) and tighten securely.
  6. Install the lower screws (1).

  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
