Rear Spring

REMOVAL 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRES AND WHEELS, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Loosen the spring link to knuckle mounting bolt do not remove.

  4. Remove the jack from the knuckle and place the jack under the spring link near the spring link to crossmember mounting nut.
    NOTE:

    Mark the location of the adjustable cam before removal for a starting point when reinstalling.

    2 - Tool
    3 - Jack
  5. Remove the spring link to spring link to crossmember mounting nut by using an appropriate tool to pry slightly downward to relieve pressure on the fastener.
  6. Carefully lower the jack and remove the rear spring with the upper isolator and jounce bumper from the vehicle.

    1 - Spring
    2 - Lower Isolator
    3 - Upper Isolator
    4 - Jounce Bumper
  7. Remove the upper isolator and jounce bumper from the spring if necessary.
  8. If necessary remove the lower isolator and striker from the spring link.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
