Fuel Pump

The Multi-Point Fuel Injection (MPFI) turbocharged vehicles use 2 different types of electric fuel pumps. These pumps are not interchangeable because of different operating pressures.

The MPFI (Turbo) fuel pump is a positive displacement, roller vane immersible pump with a permanent magnet electric motor. Voltage to operate pump is supplied through the Auto Shutdown Relay (ASD). The MPFI is under a constant pressure of 55 psi (3.9 kg/cm² ).
