Test 15C - Diagnosing Blank Screen/Buttons On Compass/Mini- Trip Module

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Reconnect compass/mini-trip module. Disconnect compass/mini-trip module 5-pin button assembly connector. See Fig 1 . Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Momentarily connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
  2. If compass/mini-trip screen is still blank, replace compass/mini-trip module. If compass/mini-trip screen is not blank, replace button assembly.
