Test 2A - Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC) Diagnostics

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If instrument cluster display is blank, replace Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC).
  2. If cluster display is not blank, close all doors. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Wait one minute and open left front door. If EIC does not glow, go to TEST 40A.
  3. If electronic cluster glows, read EIC faults using DRB-II. If DRB-II displays any fault codes, go to TEST 3A. If DRB-II does not display any fault codes, go to TEST 4A.
