Throttle Position (TP) Sensor: Notes
- TP sensor is located on throttle body. Disconnect and inspect TP sensor connector. Repair as necessary. With ignition switch in the ON position, measure output voltage at center terminal (output) wire of connector.
- TP sensor output should read more than 500 millivolts (0.5 volt) at idle. At Wide Open Throttle (WOT), TP sensor output must read less than 3.7 volts.
- At Wide Open Throttle (WOT), TP sensor output must read less than 4.8 volts.
- Output voltage should increase gradually as throttle is increased from idle to WOT. If voltage readings are not within specification, replace TP sensor.
