Power Door Lock Test 22A - Inoperative Door Lock Inhibit Circuit
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Open driver's door. Using scan tool, read driver's door ajar status. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 3A .
- Ensure key is in ignition switch. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect key-in ignition switch connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 4B. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on key-in ignition switch connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between key-in ignition switch connector terminals. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, replace ignition switch. If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Access Body Control Module (BCM) connector "A". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . Remove connector cover. Do not disconnect connector. Backprobe connector using a jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 4 (Light Blue wire).
- Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, repair open Light Blue wire. If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGN: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM connector "A". Inspect connector terminals and repair as needed. If connector is okay, replace BCM.
