Test NS-7D: Idle Air Control Motor Circuits

NOTE: This test applies to AB, AN and DN bodies only. Perform TEST NS-7A: CHECKING IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR  before proceeding. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For component location and wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors. Inspect connectors and terminals for damage. Repair connectors and terminals as necessary and perform TEST VER-1A: NO START VERIFICATION . If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of IAC motor connector, driver No. 4 circuit (Violet/Black wire) between IAC motor connector and PCM Black connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM and perform TEST VER-1A: NO START VERIFICATION . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open driver No. 4 circuit and perform TEST VER-1A: NO START VERIFICATION .
