Engine Assembly: Installation

  1. Attach hoist and lower engine and transmission into engine compartment. Align the engine mounts and install all mounting nuts. Tighten nuts to torque specifications. Support transmission with floor jack until rear support is installed. Tighten to torque specifications. Remove the engine hoist.
  2. Install the transmission inspection cover. Connect the exhaust assembly to exhaust manifold using NEW V-Band clamps. Tighten V-Band clamps to 11 N.m (100 INCH lbs.). Install power steering pump. Install the accessory drive belt. Lower the vehicle and connect all vacuum lines.
  3. Connect all electrical connections and ground Strap. Connect the fuel lines and accelerator cable. Install radiator hoses and connect heater hoses. Fill cooling system. Fill the engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level. Install the hood support bracket and hood. Start engine and run until operating temperature is reached.
