Horn Fails To Sound With Alarm Tripped

  1. Press horn switch on steering wheel. If horns sound, go to next step. If horns do not sound, go to appropriate test procedure for horn system. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove horn relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C2. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between CTM connector C2 terminal No. 18 (Black/Red wire) and appropriate terminal of PDC for horn relay. If reading is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If reading is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black/Red wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
  3. Fault is not present at this time. Check circuit for intermittent failure. Repair intermittent faults as necessary. If Black/Red wire is okay, and condition remains, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
