NOTE: Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS after each repair.
NOTE: Unless instructed otherwise in test step, reconnect any previously disconnected components and connectors.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) C3 Gray connector. Check and repair connectors as necessary. Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between PCM C3 connector terminal No. 30, CCD bus (+) circuit (Violet/Brown wire) and PCM C1 Black connector (backprobe) terminal No. 31 or 32, ground circuits (Black/Tan wires). See Figure. Using scan tool, perform CCD bus test. If scan tool displays SHORT TO GROUND, disconnect jumper wire, leave PCM C3 connector disconnected and go to next step. If scan tool does not display SHORT TO GROUND, repair open Violet/Brown wire.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect jumper wire between PCM C3 connector terminal No. 28, CCD bus (-) circuit (White/Black wire) and PCM C1 connector (backprobe) terminal No. 31 or 32, ground circuits (Black/Tan wires). Using scan tool, perform CCD bus test. If scan tool displays SHORT TO GROUND, replace both PCM and instrument cluster. If scan tool does not display SHORT TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire.
