Crankshaft Position Sensor: Installation

A heat shield covers the crankshaft position sensor (Figure ). The sensor is located in the middle of the right side of the cylinder block, just above the oil pan (Figure ).

1. Apply a couple drops of clean engine oil to the O-ring seal.
2. Slide the sensor into the side of the engine block.
3. Install heat shield on sensor.
4. Install and tighten the mounting bolt to 23 N.m (200 in. lbs.) torque.
5. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
