Fuel Injectors: Removal
- Release fuel system pressure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE PROCEDURE
in this section.
- Remove the battery cover and disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly, refer to the AIR CLEANER HOUSING
for more information.
- Disconnect the electrical connector to the MAP sensor and Coolant Temperature sensor (Fig 1).

- Disconnect the electrical connector to the TPS and Idle Air Control (Fig 2).

- Remove the wiring harness from the wiring clips under thew throttle body (Fig 3).

- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel injectors (Fig 4).

- Disconnect the fuel line quick connector (Fig 5).

- Remove the bolts for the fuel rail (Fig 6).

- Pull fuel rail and injectors straight up and out of the intake manifold.
- Move the fuel rail forward and out from under the intake manifold and throttle body (Fig 7).

- Remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail (Fig 8).
