90FD-Left Impact Sensor 1 And Right Impact Sensor 1 Mismatch: Notes
For complete wiring diagrams refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) supplies power to and communicates continuously with each impact sensor via each sensor's signal circuit. The power supply also enables each sensor's self-diagnostic capabilities. When powered up, the ORC establishes communication with each sensor by sending and receiving acknowledgment messages. As part of the communication the sensor manufacturer identification number is transmitted from the sensor to the ORC. The repair of this fault condition centers on confirming wiring, sensor, and module condition.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) establishes communication with each side impact sensor. Each sensor supplies the ORC with the sensors manufacturer identification number.
- Set Condition:
This DTC will set if the ORC receives manufacturer identification numbers from the Left and Right Side Impact Sensor 1 and they are not identical.
