Diagnostic Test
- TEST FOR DTC
- With the scan tool, read active DTC's.WARNING: Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Inspect the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Check power and ground circuits. Reconnect any disconnected components and harness connectors and ensure all harness connectors are properly seated.
Were any of the above conditions present?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform *RESTRAINT VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/CONTROLLER, Occupant Restraint (ORC) - Standard Procedure
No
- Replace the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) in accordance with the service information.
- Perform *RESTRAINT VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/CONTROLLER, Occupant Restraint (ORC) - Standard Procedure
WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- With the scan tool, read active DTC's.
